This life is like a vapor
That disappears from sight,
Or a rain drop that falls into the sea.
It will be gone forever
In the twinkling of a eye,
Compared to how long eternity will be.
When I look down the pathway
And see where this life ends,
I’ll know that’s where
My final chapter starts.
And when heaven’s doors are opened
And I’m told to come on in,
The presence of my King
Will fill my heart.
When God calls me home to Glory,
My praise is all I’ll bring.
The next chapter in my story’s
In the presence of my King.
No more pain,
No more sorrow
Will I ever have to bear,
Won’t be burdened by any suffering.
So when God calls me home
I won’t hesitate to leave.
